Hi,
Thanks for getting in touch about this! It would be great to have you
contributing to Geary as part of GSoC.
I'm probably able to mentor for Geary, but will talk to the GNOME GSoC
admins to confirm. The other geary devs (Niels & Gautier) may be
interested as well.
It might indeed be worthwhile having a look at Geary bugs labelled with
the newcomers keyword[0], and seeing if there is something there you
can look into fixing. This would both help with learning vala, and to
become more familiar with Geary's codebase. Let me know if you would
like some suggestions.
Some potential GSoC projects include:
- Supporting GPG encryption and signing [1]
- Improving contact management [2][3]
- Improving multipart handling [4]
Do any of these sound interesting?

Hi, I want to apply for Google Summer of Code. And I want to
contribute to Geary, what I want to know is Geary suitable for a GSoC
project?
And if it is, who will be the mentor? Need I fix some bug first for
applying for GSoC?
I've learned C/C++ before and some other coding languages such as
Python, Objective-C, Java and etc. Right now I am learning vala.
I am looking forward to contributing to GNOME and Geary
Thanks in advance!
