Your command works and now geary can be started.

Usually I don't have to type this command when I start a software which I compile from source, so I wonder if something can be improved on the geary side?

By the way, I have another problem with geary now that it starts.

I don't have the icons for reply, reply to all, forward, mark conversation, and label buttons.

The GSettings schema should be installed in /home/fparrenin/local/share/glib-2.0/schemas/, and they should also be in the gsettings folder of your build directory.  Try setting the GSETTINGS_SCHEMA_DIR to point to one of those when launching geary.  That is:

$ GSETTINGS_SCHEMA_DIR=/home/fparrenin/local/share/glib-2.0/schemas/ geary -d

OK.  I suspect that the custom prefix ended up putting the gsettings schema someplace useless, leading to that error.  I'll have to check the build scripts to try to figure out what is supposed to happen.

In the meantime, you could try running Geary from your build directory, and see if that gets around this problem.

I tried but I got the same problem and error message.

PS: BTW, there was another error when I made 'make' which was due to the absence of gobject-introspection. It seems to me that this absence should have been detected by the ./configure script.

Could you report a bug about this?
