Yes in GDM window along the username/password fields and login/reboot buttons.
Where will you show the text, in a label, in a text-entry?
Ahh, sorry for not being clear enough. I want to show a label with the text:
"This is display $DISPLAY"?

Ok, so, I suggest to you to use the current 'hostname' label and adding your text to this label.
With this implementation design you will have to do slightly modifications to gdm's code.
I forgot to sayu to you that you can add a new label to the ui for your purposes too.
