Thanks, this is exactly how I expected it to work.

Of course; there is no session at all at that point.

To clarify: I found that the PostSession script is not run,
if I close my session by shutting down or restarting the computer.
It is only run if I end the session by logging out.

There seem to be a number of reports on Ubuntuforums.org by people
who have noticed their PostSession scripts are no longer being run,
but they seem to believe it is a timing issue. I disagree; touch
is fast enough it should happen at least now and then.

PostSession scripts stopped working (when closing a session via restart
or shutdown), when the user upgraded from GDM 2.20.
