Hi,

   You can make the "UserName" and "Password" labels transparent by modifying the pam module which handles the authentication. Probably you need to put an empty prompt string like " " in the pam module source. I guess the pam module which you need to modify is the
pam_unix. Otherwise you can override this, by writing your own pam_module and enter that
in /etc/pam.d/gdm file.
