No, LDAP doesn't provide such things as they would likely fall outside
the domain of a "Lightweight" protocol for 1 and have little bearing on
the "Directory Access" part of its name. LDAP is search based and as
such, handling notifications would have to be done by polling.  RFC 2251
(LDAPv3) section 4.4 does describe "Unsolicited Notification," however
these are used only to signal "exceptional conditions" in the server and
only one such message is described, so there is no way I know of to get
the server to notify you of a change in say, an attribute at a specific
DN or any attribute change at all.  At least not any that are part of
the standard.
