Shouldn't happen with the latest HEAD or 0.2 release. From what you
wrote me in private mail, this doesn't happen anymore. Does it?
On the ever-spinning cursor:
Turns out that each menu you see in the editor registers a callback for
cached dir changes. Therefore, if you have N menus in your editor (N is
26 for my default debian setup), you'll get N menu reloads when adding
an entry. Just let it run in the background 1 or 2 minutes and the entry
is added ;). Seriously, this has to be fixed in gnome-menus. I've filed
a bug report [1].
