  Send patches to the FAM developpers if you think it's better.

  See in the code source what was done for other environments like 
gam_kqueue.[ch] in server subdir.

  No idea what you mean by that, just one thing to point ot is that
gamin to not get remote changes in NFS shares unless using polling for
those volumes.
