RE: Custom Theme for Quadrapassel?

At the same time I was having this discussion on this mailing list, I went into specifics on the Ubuntu Art Mailing list
http://old.nabble.com/Humanity-for-Quadrapassel-to27026930.html

They seemed to like the svg I made (http://old.nabble.com/file/p27201427/blocks.svg) and suggested I contact the maintainers, one of which would be you, Jason.
If you don't implement it directly, at least make it easier for others do to so https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=606374
Also, why are 7blocks-gw.png and 7blcoks-tig.png present? Seems like they are easily modifiable files for custom themes......for the older engine.

I believe that the code you're pointing to is in TangoBlock, a subclass of Renderer. You can create your own Renderer subclass, give it a name, add it to the table and to the switch statement on line ~60 in that file, and you should be OK.

Your renderer could load images from disk and use them to draw the tiles (use TangoBlock for an example, though it draws with pure cairo instead of by loading images, but it gives a general idea of what to do)...

However, this could be entirely wrong, as I'm not that familiar with the quadrapassel codebase.

Yes, that's what would have to be done.
