One way that GNOME contributes to the advance of free software is by keeping up with the evolution of hardware platforms; the personal computing hardware that people will buy in the next 10 years is likely going to be increasingly different from what the current user base of GNOME has bought in the past 10 years.
We need to ensure our software platform stays capable of delivering meaningful user experiences to all those people, so that the next generation of users will be able to rely on and transmit the same freedoms we have today.
