Also, the password is tied to the Mango password, which is some autogenerated nonsense I can never remember. Good thing we have a keyring in GNOME, but it's a hassle when setting up a new machine.
Jabber/XMPP lets you change your password using a client. Empathy does not expose this option in its UI, but you can use Pidgin or Gajim on a one-off basis to change the password. And, yes, having an entry in GNOME Online Accounts for the GNOME infrastructure sounds cool, but I wonder how many people would be using it.
