If that is true, the ggobi situation is better than I thought it was.
I will write to the developers and find out what their plans are.

If they are making progress towards a fully-free ggobi package, then
there will probably come a day when ggobi will be free software.  Then
we would want to recommend ggobi in various ways.  However, we should
not recommend it now.

We do want to encourage the people who are moving ggobi into freedom,
but there are many ways to do that--for instance, by telling them
directly that we appreciate their work.  There is no need to do it in
a way that gives the public the wrong message about non-free software.
