I suggest you state it a bit more strongly. Rather than "they will not be
considered representatives of the companies with which they are affiliated",
make it "they must represent the GNOME project, not the companies with which
they are affiliated"
I think you need that "must" there, so that when an employee gets into a
dispute with their employer over this, he or she can point to that "must"
as evidence that representing the employer directly would be an improper
or unethical activity. Thus, the employee can have something with which to
fight wrongful termination, etc.
Give us room to talk about wording for a day or so before you formaly move
to include this language.
