I'm actually slowly looking at things like this.  I just packaged up
the latest flickrnet library (3.5) on openSUSE and hoping to use a
patch in one of the f-spot bugs to update f-spot to 3.5.  I'm also
wanting to drop some of the libraries in f-spot that are old and
replace them with upstream libraries provided by these services.
Thinking about google specifically here.

Facebook is definitely in that list of plugins that I'd like to get
updated and fixed for sure.
