No UI feedback

It seems that some operations contribute no UI feedback until after
they complete. An example is the removal of a tag from tens (or
hundreds) of photos. I give this extreme example just to illustrate a
point and make an easy test case. Steps to reproduce:

1) Tag hundreds of photos with a common tag
2) Perform a search for just photos with that tag
3) Select all, then click Remove Tag and remove the tag in question
4) For several seconds, there is no indication that F-Spot is is
working on the photos. This confuses the user and he may try to repeat
the procedure.

There exist other situations in which there is no UI feedback, such as
clearing the tag bar.
