That's indeed the 'programmed' behavior, and it's like that for at least
all the 0.2.x and 0.3.x branches.
If someone encounter a different behavior (photo not removed when
unchecking the 'copy' box), please report a bug in bugzilla, with a
complete procedure on how to reproduce this AND a copy of the console
log (start f-spot from a x-terminal, like gnome-terminal or xterm)
