what calendar type is this about, please? If it's CalDAV, then the
calendar has an option "Server handles meeting invitations", which is
set according to the server-advertised capabilities when the calendar
is created. When being checked, all the mail sending is done on the
server side, out of the Evolution (-data-server) hands. You can turn it
off, then the mail sending will be handled fully by the Evolution,
including save to the Sent folder and similar things.
