Re: [Evolution] OAuth2 for AOL IMAP mail

Thank you for the quick and informative response! I am able to use the
app-specific password as a workaround.

In case it offers any clues on your end, Thunderbird successfully
connects via OAuth2 to the same account, so it must be technically
possible. If I can be helpful in making progress on this front please
let me know.

Thanks again
Andy

Any advice on how to enable OAuth2 authentication against
imap.aol.com server? Thanks.

        Hi,
as far as I know, the imap.aol.com is managed by Yahoo! these days,
thus you need Yahoo! credentials (client ID + client secret for the
OAuth2), but Yahoo! developer console doesn't offer Mail scope
anymore.
Search the Internet or this archive for more information.

I sent a request to them months ago (twice), with no response so far.
I'd be more than happy to enable this in the Evolution, ideally also
for the CalDAV and CardDAV endpoints, but there's currently no way
for
it.

My Yahoo! account still works with no problem, even without OAuth2.
Maybe it's a matter of time. Try application specific password.
        Bye,
        Milan
