No idea what is causing this though. Is there some tests I can do?
Might depend on your distribution and your desktop environment.

Right, this gave me https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1490959
and since I have both KDE and MATE installed, now KDE gets choosen(seems a bit random which is choosen)
No good solution in sight though
