Re: [Evolution] Ubuntu 20.04 and Evolution

Hi Thomas,

I don't like IMAP, never did. So, I always prefer to set my own setup, becasue Evolution doesn't "Know" how to automatically setup POP accounts.

I have in the meantime managed to get rid of that Gmail Cloud account

Thanks for your feedback
Alex

I'm not sure where exactly to see an "Accounts" header.

Assuming that these are all POP accounts, shouldn't they all appear
underneath/as subfolders "On this computer"? (sorry, I just don't have
the english GUI available)

If you refer to that additional virtual "[Gmail]" folder in the tree

When I set up my GMail accounts, I only had to enter the mailbox
address and Evolution found suitable settings without my further
intervention. But that became an IMAP account, for which Evolution
always reserves its own "branch in the tree" ;-)

in
the folder pane, that's one of the many custom non-standard things
that
Google decided to put into their mail account product.

Cheers,
Thomas
