[Evolution] evolution and texpander

Texpander https://leehblue.com/ubuntu-text-expander/  for some reasondoes not work in evolution. 
It is for paste little bits of text into mails and works in thunderbird
and others, but not in Evolution.
And I have not a bit of an idea why. 
What is so different in Evolution that texpander cannot paste a text
into a mail message?
using 3.32.3 (3.32.3-1.fc30)
