All this sits on top of XDG, so it should be a ".desktop" file

somewhere.

Official locations are:

/usr/share/applications/

/usr/local/share/applications/

~/.local/share/applications/

Maybe this is useful:

zerubbabel@dz:~$ xdg-mime query default image/pdf

display-im6.q16.desktop

zerubbabel@dz:~$ xdg-mime query default application/pdf

I don't know what "display-im6.q16.desktop" points to.
