[Evolution] Evolution freezing during spell check

Evolution 3.22.1, Ubuntu 16.10 (Mate).

When a word is flagged as misspelled, and I put the mouse cursor over
the misspelling, sometimes the editing session freezes.  I can still
move the window about, and nothing else is affected, and after a few
seconds things return to normal.  I have not seen this problem before,
and would appreciate any insight.
