        Hi,
not every calendar supports sending notifications by email, thus the
option is disabled when the calendar doesn't allow such notification
type. And, well, ehm, briefly checking the evolution code the reminder
notification "daemon" doesn't support mail notifications at all, the
related code contains a comment:
   /* FIXME Implement this. */

That said, either the calendar server knows what to do and itself takes
care of event notifications, or there is no way to receive email
notifications from evolution.
