Thank you for the information, and the help!.  You seem to have pegged
the issue exactly as to what is affected, and how it manifests itself.
 
Sorry, I had thought I had answered the version question, but it seems
I did not.  I am running version 3.18.5.1.

Also thank you for the suggestion for the work around.  As you said, it
seems that it might cause other issues for other applications, hence my
reticence to take that route.

I will go see what I need to do to get version 2.4.11 webkitGTK into
the system here...
