As others have said, the Evolution version is needed, not just the
distro version you are running it on.

First, run Evolution from the command line to see if anything obvious
is wrong. If nothing is apparent, then run Evolution with EWS debugging
turned on with

 $ EWS_DEBUG=2 evolution 

That should tell you what's happening, but it is quite noisy.
