I've just happened to take a look at the places for Evolution mail

      Hi,
this might be helpful:
https://help.gnome.org/users/evolution/stable/data-storage.html.en

It is 10 IMAP accounts and 1 NNTP account, that seems to
store meta data and cache on at least
thomas ga-78:~/.local/share/evolution/mail/1420635858 9770 2 ga-78$
find
wc -l
23737 newsgroups. I'm subscribed to 5 (FIVE) of them. Did Evolution
store the whole server ?

IMAP and NNTP goes to ~/.cache/evolution/mail/.... NNTP doesn't
download newsgroups which you are not subscribed to.

... so did I expect :-) !!!

But I see:
thomas ga-78:~/.local/share/evolution/mail/1420635858 9770 2 ga-78$ ll
oe*
-rw-rw-r-- 1 thomas thomas 13 Jun 14 16:33 oecher.computer.cmeta
-rw-rw-r-- 1 thomas thomas 13 Jun 10 18:38 oecher.flame.cmeta

-rw-rw-r-- 1 thomas thomas 13 Jun 10 18:38 oesterreich.tratsch.cmeta

These oecher groups are what I'm subscribed to. Why the hell does
evolution keep meta data for oesterreich.* groups ???
And there's much more to it than that:
thomas ga-78:~/.local/share/evolution/mail/1420635858 9770 2 ga-78$ ll|
wc
23693 213230 1880900

So meta data of at least 23693 groups which - most of them - I even
don't know by name :-(((

Why was this data stored - and most important: Why the hell is the whole
bunch updated every time Evolution is closed (which would last app. 3
hours when not --force-shutdowned) ?

BTW: It's Evolution 3.2.3 here - so I have good reasons to ask about
upgrading in another thread ;-)
It's stable and it does all we want, but this shutdown issue is too
annoying. And it all comes back to the nntp provider ...

Best,
Thomas
