Re: [Evolution] How to easily archive imap email

Milan,

Thanks for the info. All went reasonably well, but I did run into one
issue that I need to fix. One of the sub-folders didn't copy and now
I'm getting the error "Error refreshing folder: STATUS Invalid mailbox
name." What do I do now? I would really like to get this folder back.

two other question. My isp says they support pop3. Would I be smart to
use that instead of imap+ and leave the mail on the server (which is
what I used to do, and I assume Evolution 3.16.5 can still do)?

Finally, I see a potential problem with copying folders. Assuming I
want to keep my archive on my computer current, I will have to copy the
inbox weekly or monthly. Then I'll have a mess of archives. Is there a
better way of creating archives on my computer?

Thanks,
Dave

Suggestions?  Evolution 3.16.5.

      Hi,
right-click some root folder (under the account name), choose "Copy
folder to..." there and pick some On This Computer destination (ideally
create a new subfolder there first, thus you do not mix existing
folders with the new stuff). Then the selected folder and its
subfolders (children) will be copied to the destination. if you've more
toplevel folders, then repeat that for each for them.

Always check the result of the copy, just in case.
      Hope it helps,
      Milan
