I am running Evolution 3.10.4 connecting to Exchange server with EWS.
Since upgrading from 3.8.5 to 3.10.4, evolution is taking considerably
longer to perform most functions. Now it takes a very long time to
update message counts, for example in the 'junk' folder as I write this
is claims -1 unread, 0 total; but displaying 5 messages of which 4 (all
apart from the highlighted one) unread. It takes 10s of seconds to send
an email whereas with 3.8.5 it was almost instant. It is almost
continuously displaying 'Refreshing folder XXXX' (where XXXX varies) in
the status bar.

I am on Evolution 3.10.2 current. Performance is very good.

It does not necessarily deal well with any network instability - often
going into a seemingling endless refresh. But otherwise performance is
very good and Evolution 3.10.x has been *extremely* stable; I have not
seen a `sudden vanish` of the UI in 3.10.x.

I made no configuration changes when upgrading from 3.8 to 3.10. My PC
is fast - a 3rd Generation i7 with 16Gbyte RAM

Same here; i7 w/16GB, openSUSE 13.1 x86_64
