Re: [Evolution] SSL Heartbleed Patch Causes Evolution to Fail

Patrick:

I was using a relatively old version, probably 2.x, until yesterday. My initial thought was that something had become corrupt; so I wiped Debian Squeeze from the hard drive and installed the current Debian Wheezy i386 distribution, which includes Evo 3.4.4. Now I'm having the same problem on 2 machines with Evo 3.4.4, and 1 machine with Evo 2.30.3. All 5 configurations (current and past) seem to have the same problem.

I've been using a POP accounts on all 3 machines. As an experiment, I just tried switching to IMAP. Evo successfully received the first 5 messages, then failed on the 6th, and after a very long pause Evo gave a "Failed on message xxxxxxxx: Unknown reason" error message.

Under the Security setting, I've tried Unencrypted, TLS, and SSL. The same problem occurs under any of the 3 settings.

Thanks Again,
--Marc

I notice that you still haven't said:

1) What version of Evo you're using. See under Help->About

2) What kind of account you have. POP? IMAP? Exchange? Other? Look under
Preferences if you're not sure.

It's important to include this information when asking questions on this
list. It's hard to give useful advice if you don't give this basic
information.
