[Evolution] Spamassassin stops filtering?

Evolution 3.2.3 under FC16
I am using spamassassin to filter the junk mail. On odd occasions spamassassin seems to stop working and 'spam' gets treated as normal 'ham' mail from that point on. It's no big issue, but is there any way to restart spamassassin either from Evolution or from the command line - or do I have to shutdown and restart Evolution when this happens?
