please do not, this is fixed in gnome-3-8 branch by:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386113#c24

That was an unfortunate mistake in 3.8.4. I guess we'll release 3.8.5
sooner this time, due to some other issues in 3.8.4 too. It's to be
discussed.
