Works very well for me; same disto, same release. Have you tried the
obvious things like fsck and memory tests? Tried as a different user?
Did you upgrade from an earlier release or fresh-install?
This was a clean install to a new laptop so /home file system was new as well.
Hardware and file system appear clean.

Now a well-behaved gnome application: look in .local/share/evolution.
I found it at $HOME/.config/evolution using a global 'find'.
{grumble}
One never knows where things wind up the way that distros and desktop environments come and go. My Ubuntu Lucid has $HOME/.local/share/applications parts along with $HOME/.evolution parts. The latter is the mail message and related parts repository.

I don't see this.
For the information of others who may be able to
help more: Mint 12 is pretty much Ubuntu 11.10 (the latest official
Ubuntu, and so Debian-derived at two removes).
It is also several "removes" from Gnome desktop environment. As I understand, it is Gnome-3
but with "Mint Gnome Shell Extension" (MGSE) layer that provides familiar features from Gnome-2. (see http://www.zdnet.com/blog/open-source/linux-mint-12s-three-desktops/9919&ei=iOhQT5qXBa2EsAKjs_iuDg&usg=AFQjCNGc9MEw1lvkw04JRR6a2YZELVYZrg )
There is also Mint's MATE desktop environment. (See
http://desktoplinuxreviews.com/2011/12/02/linux-mint-12-mate/ ) I happen to be using this one.
Lastly, there is Cinnamon desktop environment. (see
http://www.zdnet.com/blog/open-source/mints-cinnamon-the-future-of-the-linux-desktop-review/10246 )
{opinion}
This proliferation of desktop parts is the result of a combined disapproval of the Unity desktop and Gnome-3 features and change in paradigm coupled with rejection of the perceived heavy-handed (some say ham fisted) way that Canonical forced them onto the Ubuntu community. Mint's philosophy has long been "... what provides the best out of box end-user experience ..." and so there are several attempts to mine the best features from the available Gnome-world desktop parts.

Help -> FAQ -> 3.4 How do I debug Evolution?
There's a newer version of the FAQ at
http://library.gnome.org/users/evolution/3.2/
More debugging information is at
http://projects.gnome.org/evolution/bugs.shtml
THANKS. I'll go looking at this. I'm never sure that I'm seeing online docs that apply to the edition I'm running because of lag between online updates and distro package availability.

Help -> FAQ -> 4.1 Where does Evolution store my data?
http://library.gnome.org/users/evolution/3.2/data-storage.html.en
THANKS AGAIN. I resorted to a global 'find' and there were parts in several places.

Which browser?
To be honest it looks like a browser issue, not an Evo one. I've just
fired up Firefox (I usually use Chrome) and tried it and it seems to
work for me.
I'm using Firefox v10.0.2. I don't use Chrome very often, but I'll try it to see.
Your assertion makes sense. The message API take the ComposeMessage request
along with parameters for TO ..., SUBJ, and BODY. Since the BODY is fractured,
it could have been sent badly. I find the two-line URL an odd snafu in any case.

There are no formal rules, just use your common sense. My personal view
is that the following are good rules to follow:
1) Don't post in HTML.
2) Don't top-post in replies.
3) Don't hijack threads. When you have a new topic compose a fresh
message rather than replying to an existing but unrelated post. Changing
the Subject line does not make this OK.
4) When asking about a problem with Evo, always state what version you
have (Help->About). Saying you're on Ubuntu Floozie Foxbat is not a
substitute.
5) Learn about Bugzilla (http://bugzilla.gnome.org) and understand that
actual bugs should be reported there. You can always post the URL of
your report on the list for the benefit of other users, but don't expect
a simple post on the list to be seen by the Evo developers.
Thanks for these tips.
I try to be a good net citizen and list contributor. I only top post to cue (clue) readers
when there is fresh content scattered through what follows.
Again, Thanks to all,
~~~ 0;-Dan
