This is very incorrect. The GNOME key ring stores the passwords / secrets for Evolution [and other GNOME applications]. Seahorse is a GUI tool for viewing and manipulating the contents of your key ring. Evolution talks to the GNOME key ring and Seahorse talks to the GNOME key ring. But you should install Seahorse - so you can see what is in your keyring.
