That's just my default installation--the way Fedora 15 installed
Evolution. I don't remember seeing anything about beagle in my old
(Ubuntu 10.04 on the old computer) installation, so I would guess that
either Fedora installed Evolution that way or it's a carry-over from my
short-lived effort at using Ubuntu 11.04.
Is there an alternative way in Evolution to base the searches?
Evolution itself doesn't use Beagle, it uses it's own internal searches.
Beagle is a desktop search thing and AFAIK F15 doesn't install Beagle.
It may be that that particular file is a left over from a long time ago
- try moving it somewhere else to see if it makes a difference.
