Re: [Evolution] Inputting foreign characters (Solved)

Hi Guys

Thanks for your patience - the solution was too simple and I completely
overlooked it - eventhough I was referred to other keyboard layouts, it
did not even occur to me to "INSTALL another keyboard layout". It is
there in the system control centre options- Linux Mint 10.

Having done this now "USA with AltGr dead keys" and selecting it,
everything is there now system wide and with a picture of the keys and
function - dumb and dumber sometimes!!

Regards

Peter Cave

You at least need to say what version of Evo this is. I know you
mentioned some version of Ubuntu but that means nothing to people who
don't use Ubuntu.

FWIW, it was meaningful enough to me. The word 'Ubuntu' means that he's
using a version of Evolution that is *so* old that I cannot be persuaded
to care about it.

Sounds like the date info simply isn't there. I don't know how Eudora
stores this for outgoing mail, but if the file is MBOX-style you could
just look at it to check.

Hi

I have installed the relevant dictionaries but cannot find how to enter
the foreign characters into an email.

Windows uses ALT+xxxx where xxxx is a number and the appropriate
character is entered into the text.

I can find no reference in the documentation to determine how foreign
characters are entered.

Thanks

Peter Cave

Ctrl+Shift+U and then xxxx.

There is nothing in the docs because this has nothing to do with
Evolution - Input methods are system-wide. :)
