I don't think that's entirely fair - although it may seem like it from
your point of view when trying to sort things out.  As far as I can see,
the config is stored in Gconf and prior to 2.32 all the data was stored
in .evolution; from 2.32 onwards the data is now stored in
~/.local/share - Evo doesn't use .conf (it doesn't even exist on my
system) or any other location.

It exists here (Fedora 14):

$ ls .config/evolution/
addressbook  calendar  datetime-formats.ini  mail  memos  printing.ini  tasks


Ah OK - I didn't realise that '.conf' actually meant '.config'.
