Yikes, that link needs removed.

Paul Smith wrote up a custom Makefile to automate most of the process of
building Evolution from git.  See http://mad-scientist.us/evolution.html

There's also "jhbuild" if you want to build both Evolution and all of
its dependencies from source code.  That takes considerably longer but
avoids the kind of dependency issues you may encounter if only building
Evolution on a less-than-up-to-date GNOME desktop.  Google "jhbuild" if
interested.
