You were fine until your second paragraph where you made yourself just as guilty of expressing unsupported, off-topic opinion as fact.

Sure, ban them from further posts.  But, beyond that, let's just ignore off-topic posts lest the posters succeed in dragging us all down to their level.

I certainly hope the moderators of this list will purge the
inappropriate and offensive content we saw posted today, along with
sanctioning the poster if possible. The message headers indicate they
spoofed their source address - cowardly acts are generally committed by
cowards. Could have been spam sent via a botnet.

Internet missives filled with offensive content such as this from known
leaders / members of the Ku Klux Klan should most certainly not be
tolerated.
