Hello

maildir was dropped out of evolution (me sad), and mbox is a pain wrt
incremental backup.

What? MH support was ... less than optimal (as in, it didn't really
work) so I moved all my folders over to Maildir, and, even that doesn't
work all the way (I have to expunge them by hand, via mutt, otherwise
they don't delete, both on the server side, and, when set up, through
evolution, "locally, on the machine" so I know it is in evolution.

Now even that is going to go away? Why is evolution becoming more and
more feature poor, rather than feature rich?
maildir is not the format used by default for local mailbox, afaik,
please correct me if otherwise.

As far as I know, no, it's not the default, but, since I have more than
2 gig of mail in some areas, putting that into mbox format would just
not work, so I was using MH, and that stopped working, so I moved to
Maildir. If you are telling me that that is gone, then I am most sad.

Yes, that allows you to put your maildir mail in one location, but it
doesn't allow for delete/expunge, even if you set it up entirely from
within evolution.

maildir format is not dropped out of evolution.
sorry, my english sucks bad and my mind often takes a trip.
I ought to read what i had written after good 15mins.

Not a problem. Maildir is broken (delete/expunge) doesn't work locally,
or remotely (via IMAP) in the version that I'm using, and I was afraid,
that, instead of fixing it, they simply removed it, as they had from
being available as a possible format for incoming mail, I'm sorry I
misunderstood you.

one feature missing from evo, send mail after xx mins.

Hrm ... I send so much mail, that every time I add something to the
outbox, it tried all the queued things in the outbox already, so ... I'd
not noticed the lack of pause/re-send.

Using Evo since 1.4.x .

Yes, I've used 1.4.1, on up through what I'm currently using now.
