I also have issues with LDAP lookups sporadically not working

I don't want to make any promises, but many, many problems were fixed
with contact handling in Evo 2.12, both in LDAP and in GAL (Windows
Global Address List). Since upgrading to the test versions a few months
ago I've had very few problems (except
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=478404 which was fixed shortly
after 2.12 was released).

That has been my experience as well. I suspect the problems are distro
specific. I have been using it on [X-K]Ubuntu Gutsy (7.10). Most of
the problems I had with 2.10 seem to be solved. The only problem that
seems to have been introduced is that filters don't seem to be applied
to incoming mail.

Actually, I've been having these issues all along since using SuSE 9.3
through 10.2, but I think those issues were LDAP lookup related, never
used to send my cpu to 100% until Ubuntu. I switched to Ubuntu Fiesty
since gnome was the default GUI hoping it will help, but I guess it is
worse.
