[Evolution] Evolution looping

Greetings, folks.

I've been reduced to Mutt because my evolution (2.10.3 under FC7) keeps
failing with the following problem:

I tried to hook up my evolution to read my gmail mailbox.

On the gmail side, everything seems to be configured correctly.

On the Evolution side, I get constant looping with the eror message:

and I get a GUI pop-up box that reads:

Unable to authenticate to IMAP server.
IMAP command failed: [ALERT] Invalid credentials (Failure)

                  Cancel  Ok

over and over again.  Regardless of what I put in the box, or hit Cancel or
OK, it just keeps looping with the same error messages to the terminal, and
not letting me click on anything else.  The only way to stop it is to
either kill the evolution process or an evolution --force-shutdown.

On advice from #evolution, I stopped (and then had to manually restart) the
gnome-keyring-daemon, but that didn't seem to make any change whatsoever.
Is my evolution permenantly hosed?  Is there no hope for hooking up to
gmail, and I should just restore my home directory from the most recent
backup (which, of course, I took just before playing with gmail ... mama
didn't raise me to be stupid)?
