A very quick look at the source seems to indicate that
evolution-exchange can't handle generic exceptions to recurring
appointments very well. Please correct me if I'm wrong on this as I
could very well be.
evolution-brutus is also presently unable to do that, but I'm working on
the feature for the 1.1.7 release.
