Re: [Evolution] junk filtering

Yep. Blame spamassassin ;-) This is used by evolution to filter junk.
Tweak spamassassin to your likings and evolution will follow.

When activating the "Include remote tests", does it activate
Spamassassin only?

AFAIK this actually is an option of spamassassin that is toggled by
evolution.

True. Enabling remote tests will check a bunch or blacklists and general
SA built-in tests that require accessing remote servers. This will
dramatically increase Spam detection rate, but it will result in longer
processing time per mail as well.

Although only one in about 2-4 weeks gets through, it's all in the
tweaking (and learning) of spamassassin.

Where is the tweaking done?

You should make sure to train the SA built-in Bayes filter. Bayes will
kick in once SA learned 200 Spams and Hams (non Junk) *each*. (Please
see a bunch of other posts by me explaining this in detail.)

Depends on version and distribution. A good starting point is to find
the file "local.cf" inside some spamassassin directory (wherever that
may be on your system). It usually resides in /etc/spamassassin
or /etc/mail/spamassassin.

Well, IMHO it is not a good idea to start messing with the default SA
settings, unless you *really* know what you are doing. In which case you
don't need a pointer where those files are located. :)
