On a more important note, how many total messages is that? And how many
vfolders do you have?

Approximately 30,000 messages in ~1.5 GB disk space (there are
attachments, mainly scanned documents). I have 8 vFolders, not much, but
enough for my case.

Oh, "bugger all", i've got 250K odd messages here. Just a lot fewer
folders.

I've got a total of 363K of messages(3.8GB of disk space). 4 vfolders
which I hardly use. 6 folders with lots of mbox files.

RSS Memory is 180MB on load-up.

scanning of messages is slow during load up but after that it's OK.
(1.5GB of RAM Helps. But prior to this with 512MB of memory and swapping
~100-200MB, it hurts)

I've been radically redesigning the way mail information is stored and I
guess I need to make sure it scales well this far and beyond.

I don't know about the new features in CVS, but I'm pretty happy with
the present state (all my colleagues as well).

Well, "redesign" means ... well, redesign. i.e.

What sort of re-design? Need any input??

One thing with vfolders. I can search for a message, but once I find it
I have no idea which folder/mbox it is in. Is there any way to
locate/determine that?
