Re: [Evolution] evo ldap hangs

Hi-

I didn't catch the beginning of this thread but from the last 3 mails it
looks like a bug #300157 to me.

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=300157

Is it so?

Note: Unfortunately, I reported this bug with a summary that shown as
bad one later. Can anyone with proper rights change the summary to
something better describing?

Regards,

Jan "Pogo" Mynarik

Any clues as to where to look, or how to enable some kind of logging or
debugging code?

Only really know about debugging mail stuff. You could try running with
CAMEL_DEBUG=all set in the environment - it will dump a lot of debug to
the screen though, and it might not be very useful if it is a logic
problem.

Is it just busy filtering new mail? That will delay ui updates in some
cases.

No. I filter all the mail server side, and drop it into imap folders,
before evo ever sees it.

As long as I --force-shutdown and restart, everything is fine. I
suspect it's losing a connection of some kind to the LDAP server, but
thinks it's still active.

It's getting frustrating. I had been using 1.4.5 up until about four or
five months ago and had minimal problems, and I switched to a new
machine (ubuntu hoary) running 2.2.2.2.1.1.

I should probably compile evo from source and read all the ldap code,
but I haven't had time to do so.

Hmm.

Rich
