Re: [Evolution] Proposal: Evolution Attachment UI

Fejj,

Nice :-). I was looking at various apps how they show attachments.
Exchange displays this way. But i liked the idea behind mac. It showed exactly the same as evo shows. Just
that they had icons instead of buttons. Apart from that it too had a flat icon view for the mime-tree
displaying the leaf nodes making all the attachment easy to access.

It looked pretty nice, since it maintained the tree as well it had a flat icon list to give a consolidated
list of attachments.

I'm not sure I like this idea... I'm just remembering back when I was in
college when I used Outlook Express which did things this way and all my
friends would forward craptastic chain mail to me and I had to click the
attached message attachments 500 times to get to the original message to
read the not-so-funny joke.

Fejj,

Just thinking, showing the attachmed mail in a new (mail) window instead of inline, and having a flat
icon view, would that be so bad? Im just asking since, that way we can maintain the tree hierarchy also and
have a intuitive Icon view for attachments. Just thinking.

Yes, I think the tree-view icon list definitely solves some of the
problems I was worried about for the flat icon-list.
