Re: [Evolution] Signature & default folder settings not being saved

Thanks for the tips.

I checked that the Gconf deamon is running and that the file permissions
to .evolution and .gconf are OK. I would assume if there was a problem
like this, other settings would not be saved either. I can create
additional accounts, no problem. Its just that these particular settings
are not stored.

How does one update to 2.03? It does not appear in the Red Hat updates
tool...

I am running Evolution 2.02, on Fedora 3, with the Exchange connector

There appears to be a small but annoying bug - it does not remember the
signature(identity tab) or the settings for the draft and sent messages
(defaults tab).

Each time i restart evolution i have to re-do the settings.

I have searched for updates via the fedora 3 update but not found any
updates.

Maybe you have a file permissions problem somewhere in .gconf/
or .evolution/ ?

Yeah. Cause the Default Folders are stored in GConf only, the wrong
permissions are in ~/.gconf (especially the apps/evolution part) most
likely.

Or maybe the GConf daemon isn't running properly and fails to safe the
changed data? Nick, can you create a new (fake) account, which persists
after closing and starting Evolution?

I also have 2 small feature requests:

Would it be possibly to have an option to insert the signature above the
original email, when replying to the message? (rather then below) And

No! That is an Evil MS Embrace & Extend violation of the relevant
RFC.

Thanks, Ron. ;-)

We had that topic already a couple of times. Please see this post for
some more information about it.
