[Evolution] Way to filter on manual command only vs on all incoming email?

I would like to set up Evolution such that I can view incoming mail in
my inbox and deal with it (respond, flag it, etc..) BEFORE it gets
filtered out to the folders in which I keep my email.  

The way filters seem to operate right now in Evolution the email gets
filtered when it comes in.  Such that I have to go chasing down the
email in the various folders to which it is diverted by the filters.  

I have looked, and looked, and looked for settings to allow me to tell
Evolution to NOT filter on incoming email but only on a manual command
to filter (like there is in KMail) to no avail.  Is there some way to do
this? 

If not can someone suggest an alternative, perhaps better way, of using
filters that involves being able to direct them to various folders
(through the filters) but that does not involve chasing after unread
messages that end up in the folders before I have a chance to see them
in my inbox?
