[Evolution] Difference between file/close and file/exit?

I know this is a very basic question, but I can't find any information in the online documentation on Novell's site.
The file entry on the menu bar has two choices that appear to do the same thing, but must be differentiated in some fashion.
What is the difference between file/close and file/exit?
